Research Participation Opportunity

WICE Communications Director Poornima Eber had the opportunity to speak with Shelanda Gonsalves, a lead program manager at National Grid, who is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Walden University. Shelanda’ s research is focused on women engineers who pursue higher leadership opportunities. She is exploring the lived experiences of women engineering leaders in the New York utility sector and would like to  increase awareness for  women who pursue roles in the male-dominated field of engineering and succeed by becoming leaders in the New York utility sector.

Shelanda is looking for volunteers to participate in her research. She is seeking women who meet the following 3 criteria:

  1. Women with an undergraduate degree in engineering
  2. Women who currently work or have worked in the New York utility sector
  3. Women who have managed other managers while working in the NY utility sector

Please contact Shelanda directly at Shelanda.Gonsalves@nationalgrid.com if you are interested in participating in her research study.
